Antenatal Classes

Congratulations on your Pregnancy!

This is a new and exciting phase of your life, one that should be filled with joy and anticipation, but that can be marred by ignorance and unfounded fears.

Here at SGH, we have designed a special program to prepare you for pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood. In short, to get you ready to be a mother!

You will be taught by experiences staff who are trained in midwifery and parent craft. In an unhurried environment, you can feely interact with other mothers-to-be and seek advice from your trainers.

Through this course, we hope you can explore and enjoy a pregnancy without fears, and experience labour without tears.

  • Parent craft and postnatal period
  • Labour without tears - methods of pain relief
  • Preparation for delivery
  • Labour ward tour

1-to-1 Physiotherapy Assessment (Excluded from 1 day intensive Course)

Learn about the importance of pelvic floor exercises and effective pushing technique.

Our Physiotherapist will guide you on how to activate your pelvic floor muscles correctly.

Note: It is recommended for applicants to register for the programme after week 16 of their pregnancy.  

SGH reserves the right to :

  • Allocate slots for interested applicants. As the class slots are limited, priority may be accorded to SGH patients who are further along in their pregnancy term (e.g. 30 weeks and above) in consideration of their estimated delivery date (EDD).
  • Cancellation of classes, in view of the emergence of a new variant with potential public health risk.
  • Deny participants’ entry to the class if they present flu-like symptoms (e.g. fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, breathlessness or loss of taste/smell etc.) in order to protect the health and safety of the participants.
