Obstetrics

The Department of O&G provides a wide range of maternity services. Pregnant patients are seen antenatally by our doctors at the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Centre and deliver in our cosy Labour Ward suite. Our unit is also a BFHI (Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative) accredited; we encourage skin-to-skin contact after birth and provide comprehensive breastfeeding help and support. 

Our Early Pregnancy Unit caters to patients in the first trimester with vaginal bleeding or abdominal pain. It is open from 8 to 5pm from Mondays to Fridays and provides a one-stop location for patients with the above symptoms to be assessed and treated by doctors from the Department. 

Our department is a tertiary referral centre for High Risk Pregnancy.  We have vast experience in caring for patients with medical problems and complicated pregnancies, and frequently receive referrals from other centres in Singapore. Our dedicated Centre for High Risk Pregnancy (CHiRP) run three times a week, and we also have specialised Joint Clinics to care for patients with diabetes as well as cardiac, rheumatological and hematological conditions. 

Our Postnatal Assessment Clinic is the only clinic in Singapore specialising in assessing women who have had an instrumental delivery or third/fourth-degree perineal tear to prevent long-term pelvic floor issues.
