HEPATITIS E VIRUS QUANTITATIVE PCR

For the detection and quantification of hepatitis E virus (HEV) specific RNA in blood samples.

3-5 ml of blood in EDTA (purple top) tubes (at least 2 fully-filled tubes).

​To assist in the diagnosis of active Hepatitis E Viral infections.

Refrigerate sample at 2-8°C until transfer to laboratory. Do not freeze.  Sample should reach the laboratory as soon as possible preferably within 24 hours after collection.​

Real-time quantitative Hepatitis E PCR assay (RealStar® HEV RT-PCR v2.0 from Altona-Diagnostics, Germany)
