​Hepatitis E IgM Antibody (anti-HEV IgM)

Hepatitis E IgG Antibody (anti-HEV IgG)

Specimen Required

​3 – 5 mL plain blood.

Storage/Transport

​Refrigerate samples if delay in transporting to laboratory is anticipated. Do not freeze.

Method

​Enzyme Immunoassay for both

Test Results

Acute infection: IgM positive

Past infection: IgG positive, IgM negative

Turnaround Time

​Negative report: <1 - 7 days

Positive / Equivocal report : <1 – 14 days
