Depression and Its Management

​Many people say they feel depressed but are they suffering depression? Some say they do not feel depressed yet could be suffering depression. Why is it important not to miss the diagnosis of depression?


Depression is not a single condition. In this talk, you will learn about the different types of  depression. You will learn about the features, causes, and the epidemiology of depression. Depression is a major factor for suicide. But what proportion of patients commit suicide? Who are those who commit suicide? What about those who commit deliberate self- harm? Are there differences between these 2 groups?


Besides medications you will also learn about the other methods of treatment that would be beneficial to these patients and the proportion expected to recover. Most importantly, how long should patients take their medications? Come and find out the answers to these questions and more.
