Living with a rheumatological condition such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, or other autoimmune disorders often means learning to live with uncertainty. Symptoms may come and go, energy levels may fluctuate, and daily routines can be affected in ways others may not always see or understand. Over time, this can feel physically tiring and emotionally heavy.
The SGH Rheumatology Patient Support Group was formed as a quiet space of understanding - a place where patients and caregivers can slow down, connect, and feel heard. Supported by SGH healthcare professionals, our group brings together individuals who share similar experiences, offering comfort in knowing that others truly understand this journey.
Rather than facing challenges alone, we come together to exchange practical coping strategies and support one another through different stages of living with a chronic condition. Whether you are adjusting to a diagnosis or have been managing your condition for many years, we offer a steady source of connection, learning, and encouragement.
Through this support group, we aim to nurture not only knowledge and self‑management skills, but also emotional well‑being and a sense of calm, belonging, and acceptance - at a pace that feels right for each individual.
We welcome individuals at different stages of their condition - whether newly diagnosed or living with their condition over time.
Together, these sessions help reduce feelings of isolation, build confidence in day‑to‑day management, and provide steady reassurance. Most importantly, the group offers a supportive presence - reminding patients and caregivers that it is okay to take things one step at a time.
