Renal Support Group

Living with chronic kidney disease (CKD) or end‑stage kidney disease (ESKD) can feel overwhelming. Patients have to adjust to long‑term treatments such as haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, manage lifestyle changes, and cope with the emotional ups and downs that come with a chronic condition. It is not just the body that is affected - thoughts, emotions, relationships, and daily routines are too.

The Renal Support Group (RSG) is here to walk this journey with you. Led by SGH nurses and supported by SGH’s renal care teams, our group provides holistic support, education, and encouragement for patients and caregivers living with kidney disease. We believe that with the right information, support, and community, we can face each step with greater knowledge and confidence.

At SGH, patients are always at the centre of what we do. The Renal Support Group reflects this commitment by fostering an inclusive and compassionate community that supports self‑management, builds resilience, and works towards a better quality of life - together.

• Peer support, connecting patients and caregivers with others who understand life with kidney disease
• Educational talks and sharing sessions led by SGH nurses, covering kidney disease, dialysis, self‑care, and coping strategies
• Open group discussions that provide a safe space for questions, sharing, and reassurance
• Emotional and psychosocial support for both patients and caregivers navigating long‑term kidney care
