Lactation Support Group

Synonym(s):

The Lactation Support Group comprises of trained midwives and nurses committed to promoting and supporting breastfeeding in line with our Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) accreditation. Supporting mothers and infants across maternity, neonatal unit including Neonatal HD and NICU and other wards/clinics within SGH. The group plays an integral role in upholding BFHI standards through breastfeeding education, practical support, and staff training.

Working closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, the Lactation Support Group supports mothers and families in making informed feeding choices managing breastfeeding challenges and working towards their breastfeeding goals. Through education and personalised guidance, the group aims to support positive health outcomes for both mother and baby.

Mothers and families can benefit from professional support and reassurance during their breastfeeding journey. Members can benefit by:
