Diabetes Support Group

Synonym(s):

Being diagnosed with diabetes — or caring for someone living with the condition — can be challenging. Managing blood glucose levels, adapting daily routines, and coping with concerns about long-term health may feel overwhelming at times.

Our Diabetes Support Group was established to provide support, education, and encouragement for people living with diabetes and their caregivers. As diabetes continues to affect more individuals in Singapore, we recognise the importance of creating a supportive community beyond clinical consultations — a space where patients and families can learn, connect, and journey together.

Led by healthcare professionals, the support group aims to help individuals better understand diabetes and build confidence in managing their condition. Through education, shared experiences, and peer support, we hope to empower participants while reminding them that they are not alone in their diabetes journey.

Who this is for

  • SGH patients living with diabetes
  • Family members and caregivers supporting an SGH patient with diabetes

How we support patients and caregivers

Our support group focuses on:

  • Raising awareness on the importance of achieving and maintaining good diabetes control
  • Empowering individuals to take an active role in managing their diabetes
  • Providing psycho-emotional support as patients and caregivers adjust to living with diabetes
  • Creating a safe and supportive platform for participants to share experiences, challenges, and coping strategies with one another

Our sessions are designed to be practical, supportive, and easy to understand. We recognise that diabetes management involves both physical health and emotional well-being, and we are committed to supporting both aspects of care.

Together, through learning and mutual support, managing diabetes can become a more confident and less daunting journey.
