Blood cancers affect the blood, bone marrow, or lymphatic system. These include conditions such as leukaemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and myeloproliferative neoplasm.
Beyond physical symptoms, patients and families often experience emotional stress, uncertainty, and fatigue as they navigate diagnosis and treatment.
The Blood Cancer Support Group was established in collaboration with Leukaemia & Lymphoma Foundation to provide a safe, welcoming space where patients and caregivers can connect, share experiences, and support one another. The group brings together individuals facing similar challenges to foster understanding, learning, and a sense of community.
Our aim is to help patients and caregivers feel less isolated, more supported, and better equipped to cope with the challenges of blood cancer.
We welcome all individuals affected by blood cancer. Participation is open to both SGH and non-SGH patients.
The support group provides a range of peer and educational support, including:
Participation is voluntary, and individuals are encouraged to share only what they are comfortable with. Many participants also attend simply to listen and learn.
This support group is intended for peer support and sharing of experiences. It does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Participants are encouraged to consult their healthcare team for personalised medical care.
We encourage all participants to respect the privacy and confidentiality of others by not sharing personal information discussed during sessions outside the group.
