Specimen Required	3-5 ml of whole blood in EDTA
Indications	For detection and quantitative measurement of Epstein-Barr virus DNA. As an adjunct in diagnosis, prognostication and post-treatment monitoring of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Also used in diagnosis of post transplant lymphoproliferative disorders (PTLD), EBV-associated posterior uveitis and in diagnosis of central nervous system lymphoma in AIDS patients.
Storage/Transport	Refrigerate sample until transfer to laboratory. Do not freeze. Sample should reach the laboratory as soon as possible, preferably within 24 hours after collection.

Test Results	Detected (quantity reported in copies/mL), Undetectable or Inconclusive Linear Range: 265 – 192,300 (2.42 - 5.28 log) copies/mL
