CANDIDA AURIS SCREENING (PCR) (QUALITATIVE)

Validated sample type:

• ESwab from nose, axilla & groin areas with 1 mL of Amies medium

Non-validated sample type:

• Will be rejected

​For routine first-line screening of combination nose/axilla/groin swabs for C. auris DNA, as per institution infection control policies

ESwabs should be transported to the laboratory at 2 – 25°C in tightly screwed ESwab media tubes with secondary packaging to prevent leakage.
(Note: Leaked samples will be rejected)

Sample should reach the Molecular Laboratory within 72 hours of collection.
