About

​Dr. Jason Chang is an accredited specialist in the field of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. He was conferred the HMDP scholarship for Fellowship Training in Advanced Hepatology in Portal Hypertension and Liver Transplantation at Hospital Clinic, Barcelona from 2007–2008.

Dr. Chang is currently a Senior Consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the Singapore General Hospital. He has a keen interest in Hepatology  (viral hepatitis, fatty liver, liver cancer, liver transplantation) and his particular area of expertise is in liver cirrhosis, portal hypertension and non-invasive markers of fibrosis including transient elastography (Fibroscan®).  He is active in clinical research and is published in the area of portal hypertension, liver cirrhosis, transient elastography and liver cancer.

Dr. Chang is also a passionate educator at heart. He is actively involved in undergraduate medical education in his roles as Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and Clinical Senior Lecturer with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS.  As Program Director of the SingHealth Gastroenterology Residency Program, he oversees the training of future gastroenterology specialists in SingHealth. He has been awarded numerous awards for his role in medical education including the AMEI Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Educator (Medical) in 2015.
