Profile

Dr. Darren Tay graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1999. He then finished his orthopaedic residency training in 2009 and went on to complete his clinical fellowship (Human Manpower Development Program HMDP) in hip and knee arthroplasty at the Southampton General Hospital, UK from 2010 to 2011.
He has been practicing at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) as a senior consultant Orthopaedic surgeon since 2016. He is also currently Adjunct Assistant Professor with both the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the Duke-NUS Medical School and Core Faculty in the SingHealth Orthopaedic Residency Program.
 
His main interests in adult reconstruction surgery include minimally invasive partial knee resurfacing, complex primary and revision joint replacements, and robotic-assisted hip and knee arthroplasty.
 
Besides being involved in medical teaching, Dr. Tay is involved in organizing local arthroplasty courses, and frequently travels overseas, both regionally and internationally, as an invited speaker and to conduct arthroplasty workshops.
