The “Digital Health Contagion” – Looking beyond COVID-19 in the “new normal”

We are all familiar with the C-word. In 2011, a similar pandemic was predicted in an American thriller called "Contagion", in which the struggles of containing the spread of a virus pandemic transmitted by respiratory droplets and fomites and finding a vaccine were portrayed. In March 2020, this became the most viewed HBO film for two weeks straight.

COVID-19 has created many challenges for healthcare services but has also highlighted the value of digital health in patient care, management and safety. This global crisis has been a test for the maturity of digital health technologies. Digital solutions which had poor market penetration are becoming today's new standard. Is digital health only a fad during COVID-19 or will it become a "Digital Health Contagion" in a post-COVID world? In this presentation, we will explore the latest digital health trends as we enter the "new normal".

After the lecture, participants will be able to gain an understanding on:

  • The latest digital health innovations and trends in the context of COVID-19
  • How upcoming digital health solutions can impact patient care in a post-COVID era
