Introduction to Acupuncture
10 January 2024

Acupuncture is an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which originated from China more than 3000 years ago. The use of acupuncture has gained popularity worldwide in the recent decades.

There has also been an increasing demand for acupuncture in Singapore over the years and with its wider acceptance, acupuncture has been gradually integrating into mainstream healthcare. Patients who are looking for natural and safe treatment are increasingly open to opting for acupuncture at hospitals to complement conventional treatment.

This presentation aims to provide an insight of what acupuncture is, specifically in a hospital setting and how it may complement conventional treatment.

After the lecture, the participants will be able to gain an understanding on:

  • What is acupuncture and how does it work?
  • Common acupuncture indications
  • Various acupuncture interventions
