Integrating the Arts and Art Therapy in Healthcare

This CPD lecture introduces the audience to the application of the arts in healthcare and holistic patient care. The audience will learn various practices of arts in healthcare that include the differences and similarities between the roles of an art therapist, artist in resident, arts facilitator or artist. The basic principle and spectrum of art therapy practices in the healthcare setting will also be presented.

This lecture will provide the audience with the opportunity to engage in visual art techniques that support stress reduction and patient’s recovery journey. The presentation will end with discussions on how the audience can begin to integrate art and creativity in their healthcare setting.
