Accessibility Services at SGH

At Singapore General Hospital (SGH), we are committed to supporting patients, caregivers, and visitors with care and understanding. We offer accessibility services across our campus, including complimentary wheelchair shuttles from Outram Park MRT and accessible parking. Our aim is to ensure your visit is comfortable and well supported, and our friendly staff are always ready to assist if needed.

Guide Dogs on Hospital Premises

SGH welcomes guide dogs accompanying a blind or visually-impaired patients or visitors, to be brought to outpatient and inpatient areas. 

Restricted areas out of bound for guide dogs, include ICUs, Isolation Wards and areas performing invasive procedures - eg. OTs, Ambulatory Surgery Centre, Endoscopy Centres, Dialysis Centres.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are available for use throughout SGH campus. They can be located at the following main entrances:

  • SGH Blk 2/3, 4, 5, 6/7 at Level 1            
  • SGH Emergency / NNI at Level 1 & 3
  • Outram Community Hospital (OCH) at Level 1
  • Diabetes & Metabolism Centre (DMC) at Level 1
  • National Eye Centre (SNEC) at Level 1
  • National Heart Centre (NHCS) at Level 1, Level 2 and Basement car park
  • National Cancer Centre (NCCS) at Level 1, Level 2 and Basement car park

 

Wheelchair shuttle service

We offer complimentary Wheelchair Shuttle Service to transport wheelchair-users from Outram Park MRT to drop-off points around SGH Campus.

Personal Mobility Aids (PMAs) parking

Use of Personal Mobility Aids (PMA) for individuals who are not mobile or have difficulty walking, are allowed within our premises. However as PMA poses a fire risk to hospital occupants, Personal Mobility Aids are not allowed in our wards. Wheelchairs are available for your use during your stay with us.

PMAs can be parked at the following locations:

SGH Block 5 Level 1 car park
(beside the ambulance parking area)

SGH Emergency / NNI Level 1
(behind Wheelchair Shuttle waiting area)

Handicapped-accessible parking

SGH offer many options for handicapped-accessible parking. Vehicles that display a valid Car Park Label can park in accessible parking lots so users can board or alight from their vehicles safely.
