When to complete PROMs

Find out when you will be prompted to complete PROMs

Synonym(s):

Patients may need to complete PROMs questionnaires more frequently depending on the individual progress and treatment plans.

Outpatient

PROMs may be required to be completed either

  • before their appointment / clinic visit
  • periodically in between appointments or
  • in intervals (e.g. every few months /once every year) at home.

Inpatient

Patients who are warded (admitted in hospital) may receive their PROMs through SMS with the link to the PROM questionnaire.

In some occasion, a ward nurse can help ask the PROM questions face-to-face and record the answers that patients provide.
