The FilmArray Meningitis/Encephalitis (ME) Panel is a qualitative multiplexed nuclei acid-based in vitro diagnostic test intended for use with FilmArray systems. The FilmArray ME Panel is capable of simultaneous detection and identification of multiple bacterial, viral, and yeast nucleic acids directly from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) specimens obtained via lumbar puncture from individuals with signs and/or symptoms of meningitis and/or encephalitis. The following organisms are identified using the FilmArray ME Panel:
least 0.5 mL of CSF collected in a leak-proof sterile container. (Facemasks
must be worn by all present during collection to prevent contamination of CSF
Specimens should be processed and tested
with the FilmArray ME Panel as soon as possible, though they may be stored for
up to one day at room temperature (approximately 23oC), or under
refrigeration at 4oC for up to seven days.
