A deposit is required for A and B1 ward types. If you are warded in a B2 or C ward type and are undergoing certain procedures, you may have to place a deposit due to withdrawal limits under Medisave regulations. During your stay, if your interim bill exceeds the initial deposit, you may be requested to top up your deposit.
You should bring medications (including prescription, over-the-counter and traditional remedies) that you are currently taking, as this will facilitate proper documentation of an accurate medication list for timely review and prescription by your doctor.
You should bring personal toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, hairbrush or comb and a pair of slippers.
However, please do not bring items such as lighters, matches, knives or any other sharp objects that are prohibited in SGH. If found, these will be kept by the ward and only returned upon discharge.
Excessive cash or valuables (like laptops) should not be brought for your stay. The Hospital will not be responsible for any loss of or damage to patients' or visitors' personal items while at our premises, as such items were brought to SGH at the owners' risk.Due to a number of mobility devices related fires, for the safety of our patients and staff, all patients are not allowed to bring their Personal Mobility Aid (PMAs). Wheelchairs are available for your use during your stay with us
