We are proud to announce that the Department of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (DVIR) at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) has been awarded the status of an IASIOS Centre of Excellence by the International Accreditation System for Interventional Oncology Services in 2025. This milestone affirms our unwavering commitment to high standards of safety, clinical excellence, and innovation in interventional oncology.

SGH is the first institution in Southeast Asia to receive this distinguished recognition, placing us among a select group of centres worldwide that meet rigorous international benchmarks for quality in interventional oncology services. The IASIOS accreditation reflects not only the strength of our clinical outcomes, but also the robustness of our governance, multidisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centred approach.

Interventional oncology is a rapidly advancing field that utilises image-guided, minimally invasive therapies to treat cancer with precision and targeted effectiveness. At SGH, we have been advancing this transformation, offering modern treatments such as transarterial chemoembolisation (TACE), radioembolisation (Y-90), tumour ablation, and image-guided biopsies across a broad spectrum of cancer types.

This recognition is a tribute to the dedication and excellence of our multidisciplinary team including interventional radiologists, oncologists, surgeons, nurses, and allied health professionals, who work tirelessly to deliver timely, evidence-based, and compassionate care.
