Research Urology

Synonym(s):

Beyond providing clinical services to cover a wide spectrum of urological conditions, the department also has strong endeavors in research, contributing to the body of knowledge in the field. This comprises of several grant-supported clinical trials as well as research harnessing the strengths of our robust prospectively maintained cancer registry and database.

Current ongoing clinical trials:

  • Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) Study - Clinical study evaluating accuracy and reliability of urine test to diagnose early kidney, bladder, and prostate cancer
  • FLAME-PC (Focal therapy or radical therapy: Lesion-based Molecular Evaluation in Prostate Cancer)
  • Prospective Asian Multicenter Prostate Cancer Focal Therapy Study (ProAMFocal)
  • A Prognostic and Predictive Clinical-Molecular Signature for Risk-stratification of Localized Prostate Cancer
  • Evaluating functional and oncological outcomes of Focal Cryotherapy for Prostate Cancer using a Novel MRI-US fusion robotic platform: A Prospective Study
  • WeeCare – Creation of a novel device for personalized assessment of patients with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS)
  • Management of Detrusor-overactivity with Detrusor-underactivity (DO-DU) via Stimulation of the Tibial nerve – the MODEST pilot study
  • Targeting pressure transmission to the bladder in stress urinary incontinence.
  • MV140 Vaccine for Prevention of Urinary Tract Infections in the Presence of a Foreign Body
  • Analysis of Bladder Imaging Software for Overactive bladder
  • Creation of a novel Audio Uroflow App for use with a smart phone for the assessment of patients with lower urinary tract symptoms
  • Generation of bladder cancer PDX in humanized mice and its use in drug testing
  • A non-interventional study of efficacy and utility of BC101 urine test for diagnosis of urothelial cancer
  • Development and Validation of Novel Point of Care Urine Biochemistry Device to Optimize Management of Nocturia
