Kidney Transplantation @ SGH continues to remain at the forefront kidney transplant surgery, ever since we performed the first kidney transplant surgery in Singapore in 1970. Since then, we have transplanted many kidneys and expanded our skills and capabilities to do more complex transplant surgeries, including performing the first laparoscopic donor nephrectomy in the country. Kidney transplantation remains the treatment of choice for patients with end stage kidney failures, giving the best quality of life and long-term survival.
