Rheumatology Events

As SGH turns 201, the inaugural Beyond 200 Ride 'n Run 2022 was launched to signify our commitment in providing care to our patients and in continuing our rich heritage beyond 200 years.

 

Driven by our passion to do more for Rheumatology patients, the founding members of the Reverie Rheumatology Research Fund, patients and corporate partners, joined our doctors, nurses and research coordinators in the inaugural Ride ‘n Run event. 

 

Teams were formed to raise awareness and fundraise for 5 key Rheumatological diseases (Lupus, Spondyloarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Scleroderma and Osteoarthritis). Together, we walked more than 2,300km, cycled close to 300km and raised a total of $147,059 from 10 September 2022 to 31 October 2022.

 

To keep our patients active and engaged while adhering to the safe distancing measures imposed to stop the spread of COVID-19, we held our first-ever virtual Patient Appreciation Day on 16 October 2021, where over 100 staff, patients and family members bonded over an art jamming workshop specially organised for them.

The event was also organised to celebrate World Arthritis Day and recognise and appreciate our patients advocates who have actively contributed to our education initiatives and research studies to accelerate discoveries and cures in Rheumatological diseases.

Swim for Rheumatology! was started as part of our efforts to create greater public awareness for little-known Rheumatological diseases and raise funds to support research in Rheumatology. 

 

The event in 2018 garnered 281 swimmers, including our healthcare colleagues, patients and their families, past and present national swimmers and supporters. Together, we raised $197k and clocked a total of 7,491 laps to raise awareness and funds for Rheumatology research.
