Dr Mark Tan Bangwei's interests lie in Industry 4.0 and Imaging, especially in the employment of Additive Manufacturing technologies for the design and development of patient specific implants and models from medical imaging for surgical procedures. This includes domains such as image acquisition, segmentation, print protocolling and the design of sterilisable and biocompatible surgical guides, implants and scaffolds. Another area is in the development and employment of AI models for radiological image classification optimised for small training datasets into the clinical ecosystem. This includes domains such as image augmentation, the study of compound scaling methods in network architectures and the integration of AI models within patient clinical management information systems.
