Our neuroradiologists collaborate with ophthalmologists from SNEC on various projects: 

  • co-developing AI algorithms using CT features to predict optic neuropathy in thyroid eye disease 
  • evaluating the clinical impact of serial orbital CT assessment in patients with bilateral corneal blindness who underwent osteo-odonto-keratoprothesis surgery 

Project ARTIOS: ARTificial Intelligence in Orbital CT

This multidisciplinary collaboration with Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) and National University of Singapore (NUS) School of Computing uses deep learning to predict patients with thyroid eye disease who are at risk of developing optic neuropathy- a potentially blinding condition when left untreated.

Sight Restoring Osteo-Odonto-Keratoprosthesis (OOKP) Surgery 

This fourteen-year series tracked the natural history of laminar resorption quantitatively and qualitatively on serial CT after OOKP surgery, conducted survival analysis, and described how standardised CT monitoring using a three-prong approach aided clinical evaluation and management, including decision-making for prophylactic OOKP exchange.
