Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Programme

Synonym(s):

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Programme

Our team, comprising of radiologists and radiographers, collaborates with several SGH medical disciplines, such as the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Department of Hand Surgery and Department of Dermatology, investigating the diagnostic performance of advanced ultrasound techniques in the evaluation of rotator cuff problems, trigger finger, sarcopenia as well as differentiating benign from malignant skin tumours.

Contact

Kindly contact the team consisting of A/Prof Png Meng Ai, Dr Ooi Chin Chin and Ms Kho Ying Ying for more information.

Percutaneous guided US tenotomy for Tennis elbow

Using a novel, minimally invasive technique that uses focused ultrasound energy to treat recalcitrant lateral elbow tendinopathy, a total of 20 patients underwent treatment. All patients had diagnostic ultrasound performed and answered questionnaires for functional assessment. The majority have been followed up to 7 years post procedure. One of our radiologists, Dr P Chandra Mohan, has been working closely together with our collaborators of Orthopaedics in publishing interesting findings in The American Journal of Sports Medicine.
