Research

The Division of Radiological Sciences at SGH is committed to excellence in healthcare education and professional development for radiologists, radiographers, nurses, nuclear medicine technologists, medical physicists and other allied health professionals. Through a combination of hands-on practical training and exposure to cutting-edge imaging technologies, we ensure our learners develop strong clinical competencies and professional values. Our experienced staff actively engage in teaching and mentoring, sharing their expertise and knowledge, and work closely with educational institutions to nurture the next generation of healthcare professionals for the radiological sciences.

Fellowships

We believe strongly in early career mentorship, to nurture future academic radiologists meeting the evolving needs of our nation and patients.

Breast Imaging

Comprehensive training in all aspects of breast imaging and breast interventional procedures.Comprehensive training in all aspects of breast imaging and breast interventional procedures.

Neuroradiology

Fellows will receive experience in all cross-sectional studies of the brain, spine and head/ neck (CT, MRI).

Musculoskeletal Imaging

Musculoskeletal interventional procedures performed include spine/bone biopsies and joint/nerve root injections.

Ultrasound Imaging

Comprising hepatobiliary, genitourinary, vascular, neck and small part imaging.

Cardiothoracic and Abdominal Imaging

Hands-on training in General and Advanced Cardiothoracic and Abdominal imaging with CT and MRI

Nuclear Medicine

Our fellowship training includes advanced nuclear medicine procedures, hybrid imaging, and radionuclide therapy.

Vascular and Interventional Radiology

Offers exposure to a diverse range of vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures.

SingHealth Diagnostic Radiology Residency Programme

The SingHealth Diagnostic Radiology Residency is a five-year programme that develops leaders in medical imaging. Our competency-based framework provides hands-on learning supported by an evidence-based curriculum and experienced medical educators.

SingHealth Nuclear Medicine Senior Residency Programme

Nuclear Medicine is a unique specialty which uses radiotracers and radiopharmaceuticals to evaluate molecular, metabolic, physiologic and pathologic processes of the body. It can be used for a wide range of purposes, including diagnosis, imaging, therapy and research. If you have a keen interest in imaging and treatment, and enjoy problem-solving, we welcome you to be part of this exciting specialty.

Medical Students at SGH Division of Radiological Sciences

SGH Division of Radiological Sciences has a strong legacy in Medical Student Education. We have faculty-appointed radiologists from all three Singapore medical schools and we work closely with SingHealth Duke-NUS Radiological Sciences Academic Clinical Programme (RADSC ACP). Nursing Education

Education is critical in creating a culture of safety.

Radiology nurses are integral to the care of patients across diagnostic and interventional imaging modalities for our colleagues and patients alike. We are becoming better educated in radiology nursing and understand the importance of nursing interventions before, during and after procedures, and can correlate these during care delivery.

We are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for our assigned patients, collaborating with multi- and interdisciplinary team members. Our role as radiology nurses empowers us to make informed decisions within our scope of practice and to advocate for our patients. We prioritise patient care needs and are accountable for nursing outcomes.

As healthcare grows increasingly complex, the demand for Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures is rising. Correspondingly, the role of radiology nurses is evolving rapidly, and it is essential for radiology nurses to stay future-ready in this competitive subspecialty.
