Physiotherapy for Total Knee Replacement (TKR)

60% of knee replacement surgeries in Singapore are performed in SGH. Pre-operatively, patients may undergo a course of physiotherapy to prepare them for the surgery. After surgery, our physiotherapists will guide the patients through their recovery process, in order to enable their return to an independent and active lifestyle.

In our clinic, patients are comprehensively assessed at regular intervals after surgery on their knee flexibility, strength, walking ability and balance. Our physiotherapists customise patients’ treatment plans according to their individual needs based on the assessments. Continued care, where necessary, is discussed and arranged till patients achieve their goals and return to their activities of daily living.
