| Indications |
To detect, monitor and quantitate HHV6 DNA in plasma of patients following solid-organ transplants, bone marrow and stem cell transplants. In the absence of another identified etiology, detection of HHV-6 in CSF is also considered diagnostic of HHV-6 encephalitis. |
| Storage/Transport |
Refrigerate sample until transfer to laboratory. Do not freeze. Sample should reach the laboratory as soon as possible, preferably within 24 hours after collection. |
