Specimen Required	Rinse and place brush tip in Thinprep Cytolyt® solution supplied by the Cytology Laboratory.
Indications	Bronchial brushing aids in the diagnosis and localization of lung tumours and identification of infections.
Method	Specimens are collected in a liquid preservative, Thinprep Cytolyt® solution. In the Thinprep 2000 processor, the specimen undergoes dispersion and cells are collected on a Thinprep Pap Test filter before a monolayer of cells is tranferred onto a glass slide. The cells are stained with Papanicolaou (PAP) stain and then examined microscopically.
