Lab Section Category	Cytology – Non-gynaecological Cytology View write-up
Specimen Required	Rinse and place brush tip in Thinprep Cytolyt^® solution supplied by Cytology Laboratory.
Indications	Performed in conjuction with Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) to improve the detection rate of pancreatobiliary malignancy.
Method	Specimens are collected in a liquid preservative, Thinprep Cytolyt® solution. In the Thinprep 2000 processor, the specimen undergoes dispersion and cells are collected on a Thinprep Pap Test filter before a monolayer of cells is tranferred onto a glass slide. The cells are stained with Papanicolaou (PAP) stain and then examined microscopically.
