ADENOVIRUS ISOLATION

​Urine in cases of cystitis

Nasopharyngeal aspirate, brochoalveolar lavage, sputum, endotracheal tube aspirate, throat swab in respiratory disease

Conjunctival swab or scraping in conjunctivitis or keratoconjunctivitis

Send samples (except urine) in Virus Transport Medium.

Storage/Transport

​Refrigerate samples until transport to laboratory. Do not freeze.

Send samples on ice pack to laboratory.
