Knee Function PROMs: Oxford Knee Score

Synonym(s):

Being able to move comfortably and confidently is an important part of maintaining independence and quality of life. At Singapore General Hospital (SGH), Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) are collected to better understand how patients experience recovery after total knee replacement surgery. Outcomes are assessed using the Oxford Knee Score, a validated questionnaire that measures knee pain and function.

Between January and December 2025, 1,580 patients who underwent primary unilateral total knee replacement had both pre-surgery and six-month follow-up Oxford Knee Scores available for comparison. Six months after surgery, 95.7% of patients reported improvements in knee function, while 0.8% reported no change and 3.5% reported worsened knee function.

These results highlight SGH's commitment to monitoring recovery from the patient's perspective and supporting better functional outcomes after knee replacement surgery.
