Teaching

The Department has a strong reputation for quality clinical teaching for pediatric residents, medical undergraduates from National University of Singapore - Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, medical under-graduates from NTU-Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Nanyang Polytechnic - Advanced Nursing Diploma.

Senior neonatologists provide regular in-house teaching, including topic presentations, peer reviewed learning, journal club and communication scenario teaching.

 

The department organizes the Singapore Neonatal Resuscitation Course on a quarterly basis as Provider and Re-certification courses for participants across Singapore.   The department co-organizes the Singapore Neonatal Cranial Ultrasound Workshop for participants to be introduced to ultrasound brain imaging through lectures and hands on training.

Staff is trained in the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BHFI) through a web-based education resource so as to support parents in breastfeeding.
