Clinical Pathology

The Department of Clinical Pathology provides a comprehensive integrated care with quality laboratory testing and efficient operations. We are committed to

The Department of Clinical Pathology consists of the following sections:

Clinical Biochemistry

This section operates 24-hours providing Biochemistry investigations of serum, blood, urine and fluid specimens. It also provides a wide range of specialized test such as serum protein electrophoresis, therapeutic drug monitoring, trace metal analysis, urine catecholamines and urine metanephrines analysis.

Satellite laboratories

This section operates Monday through Fridays (7.30am to 5.30am) and Saturdays (7.30pm to 1pm); actual opening and closing hours may differ from the stated, depending on the requirement of its service. Section provides outpatient phlebotomy services and clinical laboratory services at Singhealth Polyclinics, SGH outpatient clinic (SOC), the Diabetes and Metabolism Centre (DMC), the National Heart Centre of Singapore (NHCS) and the National Cancer Singapore (NCCS).

Client and Specimen Management

This section operates 24-hours providing collection and reception of specimens sent from SGH. The CSM attends to client enquires for the Division of Pathology and operates Mondays through Fridays (8.00am to 5.00pm) and Saturday (8am to 1pm).  In addition the section also provides operational and logistical support to all laboratories in the Division of Pathology.

Blood Bank Laboratory

This section operates 24-hours providing blood compatibility testing and various immunohaematological investigations. It also provides a wide range of blood and blood products including whole blood, red blood cells, platelet concentrate, fresh frozen plasma, human albumin, immunoglobulin and factor concentrates.
