Assoc Prof Lina Choong

About

​Assoc Prof Choong graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1981. She did her internship in the then Toa Payoh Hospital and the Singapore General Hospital. After obtaining the degree of MMed (Internal Medicine) in 1986, she started specialty training in Renal Medicine.

Professional Appointments and Committee Memberships

• Senior Consultant in the Department of Renal Medicine and Director of Dialysis at the Singapore General Hospital 
  
• President of the Singapore Society of Nephrology 
  
• Council member of the Asian Pacific Congress of Nephrology 
  
• Holds teaching appointments at the Dukes – NUS School of Postgraduate Medicine as well as the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore 
  
• Faculty member of the Senior Residency Program in Nephrology at Singapore General Hospital 
  
• Member of the Residency Advisory Committee for Nephrology Training to the Ministry of Health 
  
• Secretary of the advisory committee in Renal Medicine to the Singapore Renal Registry.
  

Research Interests

• ​Site Principle Investigator Participating in drug trials in correction of anemia in chronic kidney disease 
• Developing an assisted device to improve buttonhole cannulation in hemodialysis patients
