Haematology
Dr Wong’s interest is in malignant haematology. Her special interest is in acute leukemias. Trained in MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, Dr Wong spearheaded the setup of the Leukemia Registry and Myeloproliferative Disorders Registry in the Department of Hematology, Singapore General Hospital and developed leukemia protocols, antibiotics and antifungal guidelines for immunocompromised hosts.
Besides authoring patient guidebooks on leukemias, lymphoma and febrile neutropenia, she has also published on malignant haematology, myeloproliferative neoplasm, febrile neutropenia and invasive fungal Infections. She is also a principal investigator in multiple trials in these areas.
Besides contributing actively in advisory boards, Dr Wong is also a reviewer for medical and hematology journals and has also been appointed as examiner in multiple medical examinations. She has won multiple academic and scientific awards at national and international scientific meetings and has also been awarded multiple Excellent Service Awards and Star Awards.
Dr Wong received specialist accreditation in Palliative Medicine in 2010 and has an interest in Palliative Medicine in hematological malignancies.
