About Doctor

Dr. Lionel Chen is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS). He is a Visiting Consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where he is part of a multidisciplinary clinic dedicated to women with functional pelvic floor disorders.

Dr. Chen specializes in advanced minimally invasive techniques and holds full accreditation in both laparoscopic and robotic surgery for the treatment of colorectal diseases.

Dr. Chen is active in clinical research and was awarded the National Medical Research Council Research Training Fellowship (NMRC-RTF) to pursue a PhD in Clinical and Translational Research at Duke-NUS Medical School. His research focuses on the epidemiology and biological mechanisms of early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC), a growing problem globally.
