Dr. Thomson Lim is a gastroenterologist who completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2020. He was subsequently awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) award to further develop his subspecialty interest in Intestinal Ultrasound and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. As part of this award, he completed a fellowship at Amsterdam University Medical Centre in the Netherlands, where he gained advanced training in intestinal ultrasound and IBD management.
Dr. Lim is actively involved in advancing intestinal ultrasound education and clinical practice. He has helped establish Singapore General Hospital as a training centre for intestinal ultrasound and supports internationally accredited training programs such as IBUS, GENIUS and ESPGHAN. He is also a visiting consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where he supports the transition program for patients with inflammatory bowel disease moving from paediatric to adult care. His clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal ultrasound, and the use of advanced imaging techniques to improve patient care.
