Dr Apoorva is Senior Consultant Interventional Radiologist in Singapore General Hospital Department of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Clinical Associate Professor in Duke-NUS Medical School and Visiting Consultant in several public health institutes.
Dr Apoorva graduated from National University of Singapore Faculty of Medicine and completed basic Radiology training in Singapore. He subsequently received advanced training in Interventional Radiology in USA at the Dotter Interventional Institute in Portland, Oregon, and in the National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo Japan.
His main interests are in diagnosis and minimally invasive treatments of cancers, vascular, lymphatic and urogenital disorders. He is principal investigator or co-investigator in several clinical trials and serves as Director for Intervention and Medical Devices Research in SingHealth Academic Clinical Programme. He is recipient of several research grants as detailed below. Received Philanthropic funding for the ACP which enabled the set-up of a collaborative joint grant between Radiological Sciences and Oncology ACPs. Set up the Interventional Radiology Clinical Trials Programme (IR-CTP) via a programme grant from the Singhealth Academic Medicine Ex-Co which was instrumental in supporting over 50 organic projects and collaborations between the Department and other Departments and Institutions.
