Dr Lim’s main area of clinical practice in pain medicine includes managing age-related degenerative spine conditions (such as spinal stenosis, facet/sacroiliac joint dysfunction and other chronic back/neck pain) and chronic joints pain/osteoarthritis (such as knee, shoulder and hip) through medications and minimally invasive interventional pain procedures. Dr Lim is familiar and performs regular procedures encompassing epidural steroid injections, intraarticular injections and radiofrequency ablation to reduce transmission of pain. He is regularly invited to speak as a key opinion leader at local and overseas conferences.
Dr Lim is also an Anaesthesiologist when he is not practising pain medicine.
Besides clinical work, Dr Lim is involved in medical education and research. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, Senior Clinical Lecturer at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Clinical Teacher at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He is also an examiner for Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology) Part B (Division of Graduate Medical Studies, NUS) and an instructor for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course.
Dr Lim graduated from Monash School of Medicine, Australia as one of the top final year clinical student in Southern Clinical School and was awarded the Ellice Jane Hammond Prize for excellence in student internship. He subsequently completed his Anaesthesiology training at Singhealth group of healthcare institutions and later went on to subspecialise in Pain Medicine.
