About Doctor

Dr Baliga is a Senior Consultant Anaesthesiologist with over 25 years of specialist experience across Singapore, the United Kingdom, and India. He holds a CCT in Anaesthesia from the United Kingdom, where he held a substantive NHS consultant post before relocating to Singapore. His tertiary hospital practice encompasses high-risk perioperative care, including anaesthetic management of emergency surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, and regional anaesthesia. His clinical interests include perioperative safety, PACU service development, emergency laparotomy pathways, and procedural sedation governance. He has held institutional leadership roles including Chair of the Hospital Sedation Committee and Anaesthesia Lead for an award-recognised Emergency Laparotomy quality improvement programme.

Academically, he holds a Clinical Assistant Professor appointment at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate training, serves as an MMed examiner, and participates in regional airway, regional anaesthesia, and crisis resource management faculty. His academic interests include simulation-based education and responsible integration of emerging technologies in anaesthesia practice.
