Vascular Sonographers are Allied Health Professionals who specialise in performing non-invasive ultrasound scans of the blood vessels. Using advanced, high-resolution ultrasound probes, we assess vascular health and investigate issues such as deep vein thrombosis, peripheral artery disease, aneurysms, varicose veins and graft surveillance.

Working as a niche team in vascular sonography, we support our vascular physicians in making timely diagnoses and treatment plans for various vascular diseases with our accurate diagrammatic reports of the ultrasound findings.Our sonographers are also provided with ample opportunities to advance their sonography skills and stay up to date in the industry through workshops and overseas conferences.

• Perinatal Centre (O&G)

Sonographers utilize ultrasonic equipment to record images of organs for diagnoses. As an imaging modality, diagnostic ultrasound has found its applications in various organs and structures.

It is very often a tool for first line investigation. In its application in the human abdomen, pelvis as well as in the pregnant patient, ultrasound serves as a very important examination. Sonography is a very operator-dependent tomographic examination, images relevant for diagnoses may only be recorded in relevant planes. Hence, sonographers would be required to undergo dedicated training to gain the competency standards. The sonographers in this area are often radiographers who pursue post-graduate training in medical ultrasound. This group of sonographers would also perform breast, musculoskeletal, thyroid as well as small parts or superficial organ scanning.

Ultrasound examinations are challenging in its diagnostic workup of medical conditions. Sonographers have often found their careers very interesting and fulfilling.

Requirement:

• Vascular Sonographers: Degree in Biomedical Science/ Biological Sciences/ Biomedical Technology/ Life Sciences or equivalent    

• O&G Sonographers: Degree in Science or equivalent, Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography, Diploma in Medical Ultrasound, Master of Science (Ultrasound)
