Psychiatry

​The Department of Psychiatry provides a comprehensive, integrated, multi-disciplinary service in the management of patients with psychological and psychiatric disorders, offering a full range of specialty services to meet the individual needs of our patients.

Appointments

Consultation is strictly by appointment only. Referrals are accepted from polyclinics, hospitals, general practitioners, voluntary welfare organisations, schools and colleges and institutions of higher learning. Patients in need of assistance can make a self-referral by:

Clinical Services

The Department of Psychiatry provides the following subspecialty services:

General Psychiatry

Anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma/stress-related disorders, psychotic disorders.

Geriatric psychiatry

Dementia, behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia, mild cognitive impairment.

Eating Disorders

Anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder.

Sleep Disorders

Insomnia, circadian rhythm sleep-wake disorders, parasomnias.

Neuropsychiatry

Complex brain/neurological disorders that affect emotion, cognition or behaviour.

Neuromodulation

Electroconvulsive therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation, transcranial direct current stimulation.
