Training Objectives/Goals

  • To be competent in the clinical care of patients with complex inflammatory bowel disease.
  • Diagnose and treat patients with Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis.
  • Diagnose and manage extra-intestinal manifestations of IBD (such as hepatobiliary, cutaneous, joint and ophthalmologic manifestations).
  • Diagnose and manage disease and treatment related adverse effects in IBD patients.
  • Comprehensive understanding of treatment regimens for patients with IBD, including anti-inflammatory agents, immunomodulators and biological agents.
  • Proper use of endoscopic and radiologic procedures to assess and monitor IBD patients.
  • Competence in endoscopy for the IBD patient including dysplasia screening, balloon dilation and chromoendoscopy. Treatment of the post-operative IBD patient

Admission Criteria

  • Possess valid practicing license with the Singapore Medical Council
  • Registered under the Register of Specialists with Specialist Accreditation Board (SAB) in Gastroenterology and Hepatology
