Jaw Stretches

Objective

Facilitate mouth opening by stretching the jaw. This helps with maintaining ability to eat/drink, perform oral care, and speak clearly.

Instructions

Jaw Stretch 1
  1. ​Open your mouth wide until you can feel a stretch. You should not feel pain.
  2. Hold for 10 seconds.
  3. Do this 10 times.

  1. ​Move your jaw to one side.
  2. Hold for 10 seconds.
  3. Do this 10 times.

  1. ​Then move it to the other side.
  2. Hold for 10 seconds.
  3. Do this 10 times.
