Effortful Swallow

To strengthen the back of the tongue and throat muscles, and reduce food left in the throat after swallowing.

Instructions

 

(!) Please follow the instructions as prescribed by a Speech Therapist to avoid hurting yourself while doing so.

 

  1. Swallow saliva as hard as you can.

  2. Push your tongue towards the roof of the mouth when swallowing.

  3. Do this 10-15 times, 3 sets daily.

Precautions

DO NOT do this exercise while eating or drinking.
