This collaborative synergy enables us to leverage our subspecialty expertise in neuroimaging to contribute to the advancement of patient care and outcomes across a wide range of neurological conditions. Through multidisciplinary collaboration and the sharing of resources and expertise, we strive to enhance diagnostic capabilities, refine treatment strategies, and drive innovation in diagnostic radiology.
Neuroimaging Research Focus Areas
Our research focus areas in neuroimaging encompass a wide spectrum of critical initiatives.
Namely, they include:
- Neurodegenerative Research Program: this programme employs advanced MRI techniques to understand brain changes in neurological disorders.
- Neuro-Oncology Research: this study leverages advanced MRI techniques to study brain and spinal lesions, including DCE MR perfusion and diffusion imaging.
- Neuro-endovascular Stroke Therapy and Vessel Wall Imaging Program: The Stroke Therapy Program focuses on endovascular thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke, while the Vessel Wall Imaging for Neurovascular Diseases Program utilises high-resolution MRI for intracranial vascular disease diagnosis and treatment.
- Cranial and Peripheral Neurovasculopathies Program: The team collaborates with clinical, neurological, and dental partners, utilising advanced MRI techniques for evaluating neurovascular conflicts and neuropathies.
- Orbital Research Program: Our neuroradiologists collaborate with ophthalmologists from SNEC on projects involving AI algorithms, serial orbital CT assessment, and ocular globe integrity tracking.
Neuroradiology Research Innovation Labs
- 3D Printing Lab: Dr. Mark Tan Bangwei specialises in Additive Manufacturing for patient-specific implants and AI models for radiological image classification.
- AI Lab: Our radiologists collaborate on AI projects, including automated classification of intracranial haemorrhage and decoding global gene expression in liver cancer.
- MR Research Lab: Our clinical research focuses on advanced MR techniques for neurodegenerative diseases and neuroplasticity studies.
These labs serve as crucial hubs for advancing research and innovation in diagnostic radiology, enabling us to continually enhance our imaging capabilities and contribute to the advancement of patient care and outcomes.
